Sketching around at Terra Madre – Salone del Gusto di Torino

A day sketching at Terra Madre - Salone Internazionale del Gusto thanks to the initiative by Fondazione Peano and Autori Diari di Viaggio

Are there two things going together more than events and sketching? I don’t think so!

That’s why my participation to the initiative “TORINOCUNEOVUALà“, organized by Fondazione Peano from Cuneo in collaboration with Autori Diari di Viaggio (yes, the organizers of the famous annual Festival taking place in Ferrara), had a so sweet taste. And taste indeed was the main topic of the event covered by many artists with a graphic reportage around all Turin: Terra Madre Salone del Gusto, the most important international event dedicated to food culture.

Once in Turin, the artists, among which there was me and my colleague Valentina, could sign up at the designated stand and receive a badge and a special Terra Madre notebook. The purpose was to go around the Festival and to impress its atmosphere on paper.

The experience was fun and stimulating: as you should know if you follow this blog, I love to go to events and to record them with my sketches, but this was the first time I was doing so in a kinda “official” way. Backpack on the shoulder, colours in the pockets, we drew visitors, tourists, products and – just to feel a bit more home – a stage of the Pesto World Championship 😀

At the end of the day we gave back the notebook (someone was staying for two days, but we had the train back to Genoa), that will be part of the exhibition ““TorinoCuneoVualà‟. I carnets de voyage di Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2016” held from 15th October to 6th November 2016 in the location of Fondazione Peano (Corso Francia 47, Cuneo).

I will wait the end of the exhibition to scan and post the drawings from the notebook I left to Fondazione Peano; if you want to have a fast look inside already, here is the video I published on Instagram:
